My journey in the pursuit of wellness began as a lonely young child, existing in a state of constant survival mode. I devoured knowledge as a way to escape a traumatizing reality; books were my safe place when the world felt overwhelming. That ultimately blossomed into a lifelong passion for learning, and I found that studying the human mind helped me see myself and those around me with greater clarity and insight. This helped me cope when reality felt particularly harsh. Ever since those early years, I have continued to work towards holistic growth and well-being, and love learning about spirituality, philosophy, and neuroscience in my free time.
Deep passions for mental health and holistic wellness have driven my academic and professional careers. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, and a Master’s in Science Education (Grades 6-12). For eight years, I taught middle and high school science to kids who were all brilliant in their own unique ways. It was truly a gift to help my students gain confidence, develop their critical thinking skills, and grow their minds as well-rounded people and scholars. While I was teaching during the pandemic, I made sure to end every class by reminding my students, “Be kind to yourself and others!”
Today, I am a life coach, with a specialty in the perspective-shifting exercise of seeking and finding clarity. When we have clarity, we have strength. Our truth is often buried under deep layers of fear, judgment, other people’s expectations, and conditioning that we picked up from the world around us. However, I believe that we can train our minds to become more aware of that outside noise, and unlearn what no longer serves us. When we become aware of what distracts us from our own inner knowing, we can use that knowledge to live in a way that honors and reflects our most authentic selves.
My approach to care and support is tailored to each unique individual, and their needs. I look forward to meeting you, and potentially walking with you on your journey.
Remember: You are not alone.
Take care,
Michelle
